Even though the Cargo Ship application takes almost 30min to run, it reports only about 10min of CPU time.

It seems that it spends most of the time launching the same application over and over again with different small files every second or so, spending most of the time looking for the data file rather than processing it, resulting in the short CPU time reported.

Wouldn\'t it be a better usage of computing resources if all the data in the small files would be contained in a larger file and processed just once?

Or at least give us credits based on run time, rather than CPU time.

Any thing on this ??? I tried a few Wu\'s and they run or use 1 Core of the CPU for about 35 Minutes but only report 5 Minutes and give less than 2 Credit\'s.

yes, this is credits bomb in the boinc projects with very interesting progress in the calculation (between CPU time and real compute time).

I like this project, especially its focus, but would like to work on the application or credits appraisal.

I complitely agree, that here is very small amount of credits per WU. I don\'t know, maybe 5 days before I received about 1 credit/wu for ~50 min runtime. But now I receiving only about 0.7 credit. Something changed.

I don\'t know. I like this project, but...

I want use all my free CPU power, not 30%...

Maybe it is possible to select this project as non CPU intensive (like FreeHAL (others project can run in same time and then using all available CPU time))

I tried to run FreeHal CPU intensive unit in same time with Almere and Almere WU crunching time was increased only about 30%.

Most of users are credit hunters and this project losing many users because of very small credit per WU amount...

Or.. One more idea. Maybe it is possible to do, that several WU will be crunching in one time? I remember, that some time ago, this think was available in freehal.

We are currently working on installing the new application called Correlizer. If that works, Cargoship will be not used anymore.
