The UOTD has been stuck with my profile here for many months. I had nothing to do with this. Please stop sending me friend requests.

I am changing my profile to show a joke instead. I put the first one up 1/30/2012 and am taking suggestions for different jokes.

I am getting work on all my systems but there is still a lot of download failures. I am concerned that the sizes of the files downloaded are fairly large. I have already disconnected from one project, mindbending, because the average upload per core per day was 150GB. I didnt know about that at the time I signed up for it or I would not have.

I have 8 systems at home behind a residental router. I have very poor upload rate but download is slightly better. Using tools at WUProp, I see just over 6GB per core per day download statistics

Download sizes are much higher for that test grid than your boinc grid. While not as huge as mindmending, they are too high for my residential system, especially if I run all 8 systems on your project at 3-4 cores per system.

Upload rates are more reasonable, 0.3 to 0.8 GB per core per day, but still high compared to other projects.

At the present time, none of my systems are processing any of your data for some reason, so I cannot observe any results or input files. Are you compressing data before you download or upload it on windows systems as well as linux systems?

best regards

I have all 64bit cpus on 9 systems and they all run 64bit OS: Windows Vista, Win7 and DotschUX 1.2-64 (2.6.27.17) which is based on ubuntu 8.04. Unix systems all have IA32 loaded so 32 bit project should work fine. gzip exists so can I assume that zLib can be handled correctly?

Only one system, so far, has been able to download anything and it failed to get that zLib file:

error is
